GOLAN GALIL TOUR

Tzefat - Golan Heights - Upper Galilee

Day 1

  • Enjoy a breathtaking drive through the Jordan Valley

  • Arrive at Har Bental. At 1,200 meters above sea level, this breathtaking lookout is one of Israel’s key strategic points. From here you can see view over Kuneitra deep into Syrian territory and also much of the Golan. One of the most epic tank battles in world history took place here during the Yom Kippur War. 160 Israeli tanks defeated 1,500 Syrian tanks!

  • From here we take a spectacular jeep ride to explore off the beaten tracks a couple thousand years of Talmudic history.

  • Next we Travel to Safed (Tsfat), the center of Jewish Kabbalah. Visit the ancient alley ways and shuls like Yoseph Caro & Ha'ari ancient synagogues. Step into the famous Tsfat candle factory and cheese factories for a taste. Stroll along the Artists Quarter and watch a glass blowing demonstration.

  • The ancient Beit Hakevarot/Cemetary is noted already by the Arizal as having as many great people buried there over the ages. Daven by the kevarim of the mekubalim who lived and learnt in this holy city.

  • Stay overnight in Tzfat. (Meron option too).

  • All accommodations are glatt kosher

Day 2

  • Pray at the Tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron.

  • Hike the incredible Chetzbani or Tel Dan Nature reserves and stop at the amazing water fallsin the Golan.

  • Enjoy an adventure kayaking on the Jordan river! (Separate fee.)(Winter weather permitting.)

  • Visit Katzrin – a fascinating re-creation of a complete ancient Talmudic village. This open air museum is built on the standing ruins of the ancient farming village of Katzrin. Some of the buildings have been totally reconstructed and are complete with the types of furnishings, housewares and tools mentioned in the Talmud.

  • Tour a mehadrin Chocolate Factory. Very popular site with people of all ages! (Additional entrance fee . Time allowing.)

  • Head down towards Teverya and pray at the kever of Rav Meir Baal Hanes.

  • Time permitting stop at the separate beach on our beautiful Kinneret.

  • Return to Yerushalayim/Jerusalem.
